WICHITA, KS –– Knowledge as a Service, Inc. (KaaS) has made its first Wichita hires, adding a Marketing Director, two Inside Sales Representatives and two Customer Success Coaches to its team. KaaS – and its software-as-a-service technology, Ringorang® – relocated its headquarters to Wichita in June of 2021 and made a commitment to grow its business in the city by making local hires.
Shae Blevins joined the KaaS team as Marketing Director, responsible for leading branding, events, public relations and other initiatives. Blevins’ background in marketing and communications spans advertising, aviation and banking having worked at Wichita companies, such as Greteman Group, Textron Aviation and FidelityBank.
“I was drawn to KaaS because of its commitment to Wichita growth,” said Blevins. “My career has allowed me to work with clients all over the world. With KaaS, I get to activate growth strategies I've seen work and focus on Wichita's success.”
Part of that focus is in raising awareness and engaging the community around crowdfunding
“Crowdfunding gives any person – not just angels, not just venture capitalists – any person the ability to invest in a company at the ground floor,” said co-founder andChief Operating Officer B.W. Barkley. “Shae will focus on raising the crowd that we and other startups need to grow in Wichita.”
Four additional staff – two Inside Sales Representatives and two Customer SuccessCoaches – join from a partnership with Wichita State University’s ShockerCareer Accelerator.
“WSU is thrilled to partner with KaaS, and their decision to set up here in the heart of the Silicon Prairie,” said Brian Austin, Director of Applied andExperiential Learning at WSU’s Shocker Career Accelerator. “We are eager to help KaaS grow their business by connecting them with resources at WSU and helping them tap into a pipeline of talented students through applied learning opportunities.”
Students are going to “cut their teeth with a startup, gain valuable skills and a paycheck while learning from some really cool entrepreneurial minds,” said Austin.
“What KaaS and their leadership are doing, through partnership with the community and by leveraging relationships with local institutions like WSU, will serve as a model to other technology startups, riding the tech wave here in Wichita,” saidAustin.
“We feel amazing about what we’re building in Wichita,” said co-founder and ChiefVision Officer Robert Feeney. “The talented people of this community have a wealth of experience and knowledge, and partnering with WSU allows us to share our own knowledge and experience with future business professionals ready to take technology to the next level in Wichita.”
